FAI Executive Board and Commission Presidents Group Meeting
The Executive Board Members and the Commission Presidents gathered in Lausanne for meetings from 28 April to 1 May. The joint meeting was held at the headquarters of IWGA, the International World Games Association.

FAI-sanctioned events
600 to 700 category 2 events are registered in the FAI Events Calendar every year.
> Please make sure that the rules in the FAI General Section of the Sporting Code concerning Cat 2 events are applied, especially with regards to the participants.

Medals for Category 1 events are sent by the FAI Head Office to the Organisers by post. Unfortunately some NACs and Organisers refuse to pay for the customs taxes and reject the Medals.
> Please bear in mind that most countries impose tax fees to shipments from abroad. If you reject this type of parcels, you deprive the champions from their well-deserved Medals

FAI CIVL/CIAM Event Registration
Noosphere IT specialists were present at the CIAM Annual Meeting in Lausanne at the beginning of April.

> Noosphere presentation of eNavigator, a multi-tool for sports event management: how to make it available for FAI Event Organisers for all air sports; the system was used successfully at the World Games 2017 and the 2018 FAI World Drone Racing Championships, and at the 2018 and 2019 Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett

FAI Drone Permissions
The FAI Head Office reminds NACs that they can request to be taken from the list of countries where competitors are eligible to purchase an FAI Drone Permission. Please provide a justification for this request (eg. that Drone Racing is already included in NAC activities).

2019 FAI International Drones Conference and Expo
The FAI International Drones Conference and Expo is the globally unique event gathering drone and aviation industry experts and providing valuable insights into the world of drones. The 2019 edition will again take place in Lausanne at the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) from 13 to 15 September, as part of the EPFL Open House where more than 30,000 visitors are expected.

This year’s edition will include events for the professionals and for the public:

The World Games 2025
The International World Games Association has announced that the organisation of the World Games 2025 has been awarded to the city of Chengdu in China.

The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 15-25 July 2021 and 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in the Games. Drone Racing and Parachuting Canopy Piloting are in the programme of the event.
